Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and opposition‘s Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav seemed optimistic as counting for the important Bihar Assembly election got underway on Friday morning, saying that the state is poised for a big political change.

Exit Polls Predict NDA Victory
According to most exit polls, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will easily surpass the 122-seat majority threshold in the 243-member Assembly. NDTV examined 13 exit surveys and found that the NDA might win roughly 147 seats while the opposition would have almost 90.

The RJD on the other hand has teamed up with the Congress, Left parties, and Mukesh Sahani’s Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). Sahani was revealed to be the face of the Deputy Chief Minister of the Mahagathbandhan.
Though exit polls indicate it could not have a major influence, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj also debuted during the election.
Leading From Raghopur, Tejashwi
Early trends indicated Tejashwi Yadav with a narrow lead as he is running once more from the family bastion Raghopur. BJP contender Satish Kumar is his major opponent.
Opposition Rejects Surveys of Exit
The Mahagathbandhan is still hopeful even if the polls show bad results. Tejashwi has consistently said that poll companies and political analysts both would be shocked by the real outcome.
Claims of Inaccurate Counting
Tejashwi charged authorities of planning to purposely delay vote counting in hotly contested areas one day before the outcome.
“We have gotten evidence that a plan has been developed to postpone counting, particularly in cases with slim margins,” he said, pleading the Election Commission to handle the process fairly and openly.
His comments mirror worries voiced earlier by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, who claimed that the BJP and the Election Commission were conspiring to rig outcomes, allegations roundly refuted by both the BJP and the EC.
Reflecting on 2020
Narrow loss in 2020, when the Mahagathbandhan came barely 12 seats short of government formation, is what fuels Tejashwi’s anxiety. Many of those losses occurred in regions where the margin was under 1,000 votes.
